With its position on Ibiza’s rugged west coast, San Antonio boasts some of the most beautiful sunsets you will see on the island.
Also referred to as Sant Antoni de Portmany, it is the second largest town in Ibiza and its huge bay is protected on either side by equally as huge headlands. These headlands are home to some of the island’s smaller resorts and more remote beaches where the craggy cliffs and coves offer superb snorkelling and scuba diving.
Nightlife in San Antonio, Ibiza
San Antonio is one of the top places for nightlife in Ibiza and perhaps the world. There certainly isn’t a shortage of lively bars and nightclubs in San Antonio. Most visitors on a night out start with a few drinks along the seafront promenade before heading to the hip, cool and trendy venues of the West End.
After that, those left standing can move on to the famous Eden Nightclub close to the harbour, or next door to Es Paradís. Visitors who prefer live entertainment should check out the weekend lineup at the popular party hotel Ibiza Rocks. They also feature regular DJ’s and have 2 swimming pools and 4 bars where you can stay refreshed and well lubricated!
San Antonio Sunsets & Strip
The aptly named Sunset Strip lies on one side of the San Antonio harbour and offers splendid views across the bay from its lively cafes and bars. To the other side of the harbour is Arenal Beach where a number of water sports and activities can be enjoyed. The beach has good facilities and the calm, shallow waters are ideal for families with young children.
Some of the smaller, more picturesque beaches such as Cala Bassa can be reached from San Antonio harbour by small ferries that run throughout the day. Many visitors choose to bring a cooler box to enjoy a picnic during their visit to Cala Bassa where you can explore some delightful sea caves and grottos, so be sure to bring along a snorkelling set.
