Playa del Inglés is one of the leading tourism destinations on the island of Gran Canaria, the second biggest of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
Playa del Inglés Attractions & Things to do
The southern area of Gran Canaria is home to several other popular resorts such as Maspalomas, San Agustin, Meloneras and Sonneland to name a few. This area is recognised as being a clubbing town but is also popular with gay travelers and has been from several decades now. The Gay Pride festival in May has been known to attract over 100,000 visitors. Playa del Inglés is the biggest resort in Gran Canaria and certainly the busiest also.
Playa del Inglés Nightlife
If you enjoy everything Maspalomas has to offer along with the best nightlife then Playa del Inglés is the resort for you. The Yumbo and Pacha nightclubs keep the music playing and the people dancing well into the following day. Yumbo Centrum is actually a massive shopping centre during the day with over 200 businesses which transforms for some of the best nightlife in the evenings. Much of the resort is actually fairly peaceful during the day, the night time is when the place really comes alive. Sahara Beach Bar, Lineker’s and the Eiffel Bar are just a few of the other venues here to check out during your visit.
Playa del Inglés Beach
The Playa del Inglés beach is an extension of Maspalomas beach so you pretty much get the best of both worlds. This mammoth beach is said to be one of the most famous in the world which stretches some 2.7 kilometres. If you decide that it’s all too much for you here, the quieter resorts of San Agustín and Bahia Feliz just to the east have their own beautiful beaches to relax your day away.
