Maspalomas: Municipality San Bartolomé de Tirajana
Maspalomas is part of the municipality San Bartolomé de Tirajana. This area stretches from Bahia Feliz in the east, westwards to Meloneras. It includes the popular tourist resorts of Playa del Inglés and San Agustin.
One of the interesting things about this area is the unusual infrastructure in place. Maspalomas has many Swedish, English and Spanish schools. There are several hospitals and private clinics aimed at the foreign communities.

Palmitos Park in Maspalomas is one of the top attractions in Gran Canaria. This park lies on the outskirts of this resort. At Palmitos Park, there is an amazing array of beautiful animals and nature to enjoy. The main attractions include a spectacular dolphin show and rare tropical birds.
Beach & Sand Dunes
Maspalomas is one of the best beaches on the island. This is made extra special by the protected sand dunes that lie behind the beach itself. With well over 5 km of beach at your disposal, this is definitely the place to be for beach lovers and bathers. As you work up a thirst in the hot Canarian sun, there are beach bars at regular intervals along this beach.
You will not have many problems finding a parasol or sunbed as they are also plentiful. The arch from the beach takes you to the sand dunes. Here you are likely to see plenty of naturists with no clothes on enjoying the sun.
The super Aqualand water park is another top attraction in Maspalomas. This water kingdom is an ideal way to spend a fun family day out. Aqualand currently has 18 different water attractions. These range from high octane adrenaline rides to relaxing lakes and chill-out areas.
There are plenty of play areas and rides for the toddlers and younger ones also. For the thrill seekers, the best rides are Kamikaze, Rapids, Mamut and Adrenalina.
For the young ones it’s Polynesia and Children’s Paradise. The Jacuzzi and Pirates River are the best attractions for total relaxation on the water. Throughout the park there points for food, refreshments and there is also a gift shop. Aqualand is only open during the summer.
