Torrevieja to Tabarca Island Boat Trips
Apart from Torrevieja, there are trips from Santa Pola Guardamar, Alicante and also Benidorm. Torrevieja to Tabarca trips usually leaves from Torrevieja’s port on Tuesdays, Thursdays and also Saturdays. You set off at 11am and return at 6pm. The price per adult is 22€ and 15€ for children aged 5-10. Children under 5 travel for free.

Exploring Tabarca Island
A haven for pirates in years of old. Tabarca is the largest and also the only inhabited island of the Community of Valencia. This popular day trip location was declared a protected marine reserve and bird sanctuary in 1986. Tabarca Island is approximately 1,800 metres long and 400 metres wide. This island has a mixture of sandy beaches, coves and cliffs. The climate is mild with the water clear. This makes it ideal for snorkelling and other water sports.

Places of interest include a museum, old fort, a lighthouse, San Pedro and San Pablo church (as shown above). There is also the Casa del Gobernador (Governor’s House). The island is known for it’s seafood restaurants and offers a delicious choice of seafood dishes. Restaurant prices are a bit higher than on the mainland but well worth the extra cost.
For those on a tight budget, it is advisable to take along a cooler bag. This gives visitors the freedom to enjoy their lunch anywhere on the island.
